Sony’s WH-1000XM6 headphones are very likely coming in a new color soon, which would make them available in a total of four colors if that pans out. Sony is teasing a new pair of headphones on its official Sony Electronics YouTube channel. While Sony doesn’t show off the headphones in full, it’s pretty clear what’s being teased.
The video shows a pink cloth made of silk or satin being pulled over what looks like a pair of headphones, as you can see the outline of the ear cups and the headband. The video is only 6 seconds long, and Sony cuts the video just as the cloth is about to pull off of the headphones completely, leaving the headphones revealed. So, you don’t actually get to see what these are. That being said, there is a strong indication that these are the WH-1000XM6.
Sony’s WH-1000XM6 headphones appear to be coming in Sand Pink
Sony doesn’t officially offer a Sand Pink color of its products. However, it does offer a Smoky Pink color of the WH-1000XM5 and the WF-1000XM5. In addition to that, the WF-1000XM6 earbuds are rumored to be launching this week. One of the rumored colors is, you guessed it, Sand Pink. When you take those details in conjunction with this new teaser video showing the outline of headphones under a pink piece of silk or satin cloth, the most likely reveal Sony will make is of the new pink color of the WH-1000XM6 that will launch alongside Sony’s new earbuds. Which, by the way, are likely to be some of the best earbuds over $150 this year.
There are also two other things to note about the teaser video. Sony appears to be making this announcement a Valentine’s Day thing. The video’s title states, “Your heart (and ears) will be set on us when you see this.” The color pink, the mention of hearts, it’s all very on brand for a Valentine’s Day-themed announcement. After all, Valentine’s Day is this coming Saturday. Sony also mentions that whatever it’s revealing here is happening on February 12. So, it’ll be announcing these new headphones tomorrow.
