- The Range Rover Vogue once belonged to the British Royal Family.
- It features a 3.6-liter turbo-diesel V8 and Tonga Green paint.
- Iconic Auctioneers expects bids of up to $80,000 for the royal SUV.
This 2007 Range Rover Vogue looks just like any other, right? However, while you could be excused for thinking this was any old British SUV, it has been labelled as one of the “most significant” examples in existence as it was owned by none other than Queen Elizabeth II.
In the world of Range Rovers, it’s hard to imagine of another that could be more valuable than this one.
Many enthusiasts consider the L322 generation of Range Rover to be the best version of them all. None other than Jeremy Clarkson owns one, and it’s frequently featured on Clarkson’s Farm. Interestingly, his L322 was registered on the same day as the Queen’s and has a chassis number that’s just 10 units apart.

Land Rover supplied several Range Rover models to the late Queen, but this is believed to be the only one finished in Tonga Green with the 3.6-liter turbo-diesel V8, rather than the petrol unit that was also available.
It has also been equipped with a cage at the rear for the Queen’s famous corgis.
Iconic Auctioneers
Iconic Auctioneers is selling the car on November 8 and expects it to sell for between £50,000 and £60,000 ($80,000). It notes that Queen Elizabeth II was spotted driving the Range Rover on several occasions, including at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
A Mystery, Until Recently
The auction house says the Land Rover left the royal collection roughly 10 years ago and was acquired by a privateer. It eventually ended up in the vendor’s hands who initially had no idea of its provenance.
In fact, it wasn’t until they looked up the registration and chassis number that they realized the Queen had once owned this very vehicle.
It has since had its exterior paint restored, its interior refreshed, and the original telephone, headphones, and rear entertainment systems sourced from Land Rover Special Vehicles. It currently has a touch over 126,000 miles under its belt.
For those who fancy owning a small yet tangible piece of British motoring and royal history, this November’s auction offers a rare opportunity to do exactly that. You can check out the auction over here.
