It seems like we’ll get an even bigger battery boost for phones in 2026. According to a new report, Vivo is testing phones with 8,000mAh and 9,000mAh battery packs, which the company aims to release in 2026.
This year, we’ve seen smartphones with truly great battery capacities, such as the OnePlus 15, which includes a 7,300mAh battery, and the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, which comes with a 7,500mAh battery pack.
Vivo’s very own flagship, the Vivo X300 Pro, has a 6,510mAh battery in most markets. That battery capacity is outstanding, let alone those 7,000mAh+ that we’ve mentioned in the previous paragraph.
Vivo is planning to release phones with 8,000mAh & 9,000mAh batteries in 2026
Well, it seems like Vivo is looking to push the ante even further, and chances are a number of other companies will do the same. These 8,000mAh and 9,000mAh phones are not the only devices that Vivo has in its plans for 2026. Those will be mid-range phones, by the way, almost certainly.
Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster behind this info, also said that the company is getting ready to announce the Vivo X500 series for next year. We’ll likely have to wait until October, but the company already knows the game plan.
Just to be clear, the Vivo X500 series will succeed the Vivo X300 series because of the tetraphobia that is prelevant in some parts of Asia. Tetraphobia, for those of you out of the loop, is the belief that the number 4 is unlucky. Some would even use the word ‘fear’ in this context.
The Vivo X500 flagships will have 7,000mAh+ battery packs
In any case, the Vivo X500 series is tipped to have 7,000mAh+ batteries. The tipster did not share the exact numbers, but you can expect very high battery capacities. The Vivo X300 Ultra, which is likely coming in Q2 next year, allegedly won’t reach the 7,000mAh level. It will still have a 6,000mAh+ battery, which will likely be more than enough for the phone to provide great battery life.
