The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is now getting the October 2025 Android security update. That goes for all three phones, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is now getting the October 2025 Android security update
The update first started to roll out in Thailand, but it’s quickly spreading across the globe. By the time you’re reading this, it’s possible that it will be rolling out to your device too. The update weighs around 455MB, at least in Thailand.
What is being fixed with this update? Well, this update brings fixes for 14 security vulnerabilities found within the Android OS. All of them are high priority, actually, but none are marked as critical, low, or moderate priority.
In addition to Google’s fixes for Android OS, Samsung added 12 of its own, as it usually does when it’s releasing security patches. Therefore, you’re getting a total of 26 security fixes with this update.
There are no new features here, only security fixes
There are no new features in this update, by the way, it’s all about security fixes, at least based on what we know thus far. The update is, as per usual, rolling out in stages, so you’ll have to be patient once it starts rolling out in your region.
Your phone will let you know once the update is ready, though you can check manually too, if you want. All you have to do is navigate to Settings -> Software update -> Download and install.
The Galaxy S24 series will get several new security updates before One UI 8.5 drops. That update is expected to debut in January with the Galaxy S26 series. We’re not sure how long it will take Samsung to push it out to the Galaxy S24 series. You can expect it in the first half of 2026, though, perhaps even in the first quarter.
