Samsung launched its useful Now Bar feature alongside the Galaxy S25 series of flagships earlier this year. While the One UI 7 update brought the Now Bar experience to more Samsung products, it still lacked support for cover screen foldable devices like the Galaxy Z Flip. However, Samsung’s newly launched Galaxy Z Flip 7 series offerings support the Now Bar app out of the box, thanks to One UI 8.
Samsung’s Now Bar currently supports 20 apps at the moment. However, the company will increase the app support to 35 apps by the end of the year, suggests a report by Android Authority.

Samsung’s Now Bar feature will support 35 applications soon in One UI 8
As per the source, in the “Device Experience Guide” for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Samsung now officially mentions that the Now Bar feature can show real-time alerts on the cover screen. Furthermore, the same page suggests that Now Bar will expand the support for apps from 20 to 35 in One UI 8 before this year ends.
These apps support Samsung’s Now Bar feature for now
Currently, Samsung supports its Now Bar feature with 20 applications, despite the company’s official documentation listing only 19. These include Now Brief, Media Player, Timer, Stop Watch, Interpreter, Voice Recorder, Notes, During exercise, Current Mode, Emergency Sharing, SmartThings TV remote control, Call, Do Not Disturb, Wallets (tickets), Google Sports, Google Maps, Uber, Uber Eats, and Waymo.
Unfortunately, Samsung hasn’t yet named the list of devices that’ll support the Now Bar feature in the coming months. We know that Android 16’s “Live Notifications” functionality will enable the support, which is the base of the One UI 8 experience. We will keep you posted as soon as we learn more, so stay tuned to AndroidHeadlines for regular updates.
