The Samsung Galaxy S26 camera situation seems to be changing every day. Now, we’re hearing from Ice Universe, who is generally pretty accurate, that the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus will both feature a 1/3.94″ 3x telephoto sensor. That’s the same sensor as the Galaxy S26 Ultra and really the last 3-4 generations of the Ultra.
So while we were looking forward to a larger camera for the 3x telephoto, that doesn’t appear to be happening. It’ll continue to be the 10-megapixel sensor that we complained about quite a bit on the Galaxy S25 Ultra earlier this year.
Ice also confirms that this is a new sensor, with the same dimensions. So we should hopeflly see some changes here when it comes to picture quality.
Galaxy S26 Plus will have a larger camera bump
This morning, we released the dimensions for the Galaxy S26 Plus, which are mostly the same as the Galaxy S25 Plus, +/- 0.5mm. And we also reelased the thickness with the camera bump which is 10.56mm. That’s about 3.2mm thicker than the rest of the phone. Which is quite a difference compared to the Galaxy S25 Plus. Hopefully this means we’re getting larger sensors, outside of that 3x telephoto.
Other Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus specs include a 6.7-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600, 12GB of RAM, and starting at 256GB of storage. The battery is also expected to remain at 4,900mAh capacity.
Unfortunately, Samsung will not bring the upgraded 60W wired charging to the Galaxy S26 Plus, that will remain as an exclusive on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Currently, the rumors are pointing to a late February unveiling for Samsung. With a February 25 date being tossed around for Unpacked. This has not yet been announced by Samsung, and likely won’t for a few more months.
