Samsung pretty much just confirmed that One UI 8.5 will come pre-installed on the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. This is not a surprise, not at all; in fact, it was expected. The company kind of confirmed it now, via a new teaser.
Samsung indirectly confirmed One UI 8.5 will come with the Galaxy S26 series
The company shared a new video on YouTube, which shows four apps from the company’s smartphones: Messages, Gaming Hub, Wallet, and Camera. Those apps are represented as characters that are dancing.
That part is not as important; what is important, however, is that the video says “The new One UI is coming!!” This is a clear confirmation that the current version, One UI 8, will make way for One UI 8.5, which has been rumored and leaked for a while now, and it also become available in a beta form.
That video also contains a link to the video inviting people to the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25. During that event, the company will announce the Galaxy S26 series. So not only is the company pointing to One UI 8.5, but it’s telling us it’ll come pre-installed on the Galaxy S26 series.
This new version is bringing a slightly redesign, new features, and more
What will One UI 8.5 bring to the table? Based on what we know thus far, it will deliver a slightly redesigned UI. Samsung is looking to streamline things a bit more and make the UI more pleasant to look at and use.
It will also be more customizable than One UI 8.0. You’ll be able to personalize it to an even larger extent. New features are also expected. Photo Assist will get updated, while Quick Share will be enhanced. New cross-device features are expected, such as Audio Broadcast and more. One UI 8.5 Beta has been out there for a while, which is how we know all this.
