Samsung’s plans for next year have kind of been revealed, at least when it comes to the company’s premium devices. Model numbers have been revealed by Android Authority, and they kind of confirm what’s coming.
Leaked model numbers confirm Samsung’s 2026 premium phone plans
First of all, there are no major surprises here. The report mentions the SM-S942, SM-S947, and SM-S948 devices. These are the model numbers for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, respectively.
It’s worth noting that a model number for the Galaxy S26 Edge has not been mentioned. It’s easily possible that Samsung cancelled that phone altogether after the lackluster Galaxy S25 Edge sales. It was supposed to launch instead of the Galaxy S26+, but that won’t be happening.
Furthermore, the SM-F971, SM-F776, and SM-F976 devices were also spotted. These are the Galaxy Z Flip 8 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 models, respectively. It seems like we’re getting another Flip FE model next year, for better or worse.
The second-gen tri-fold phone is not mentioned here, but that doesn’t mean it’s not coming
You’ll notice that the second-gen tri-fold smartphone is not mentioned here. That doesn’t mean it’s not coming, as it’s possible the designator has not been verified yet. That’s just one of the reasons.
In fact, not even the first-gen model has been launched yet, so it’s easily possible that’s what happened. The company’s first tri-fold phone will launch by the end of the year, Samsung confirmed as much.
So, these model numbers do confirm what’s coming, but it’s possible more higher-end devices will be included on the list. Don’t fully exclude another tri-fold device for 2026, nor an ultra-slim one, who knows, Samsung could change its mind.
The first devices from this list that will launch will be the Galaxy S26 phones. They’re reportedly coming in January, though no exact date was mentioned yet, let alone confirmed. We’ve already revealed the designs of the Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra, though, exclusively.
