Leading up to CES 2026, Samsung has announced its first set of gaming monitors in the Odyssey lineup for the upcoming year, and it includes several refreshed options, one of which has a 6K resolution panel with a neat little trick up its sleeve. Samsung isn’t announcing any brand-new Odyssey entries, that is to say, it’s not announcing any Odyssey gaming monitors that aren’t already available in older variations. It is, however, announcing new models of its existing lineup.
This includes the Odyssey G6, the Odyssey G8, and the Odyssey 3D. Additionally, the Odyssey G8 for 2026 is coming in three variations. There are a few differences here. The main difference is the resolution. There will be a 4K model, a 5K model, and a 6K model available. All of these will have different refresh rates. For instance, the 6K model will be 165Hz, while the 5K model is 180Hz, and the 4K model will be 240Hz. Both the 6K and 4K monitors will be 32 inches in size as well. The 6K and 5K models will be IPS, while the 4K model will use a QD-OLED panel. The 6K and 5K models come with dual mode options, too. Samsung has made dual-mode monitors before. So, it’s not surprising to see these features again. The dual-mode options are intended to boost the refresh rate so gamers can see the higher frame rates, with the 5K monitor boosting to 360Hz at QHD resolution, and the 6K model boosting to 330Hz at 3K.

The latest Samsung Odyssey G9 comes with 6K and glasses-free 3D visuals
3D monitors aren’t entirely new (this isn’t even Samsung’s first), but they aren’t very mainstream either. Still, you’re seeing Samsung pushing the envelope here with its next 3D offering. The latest Odyssey G9 comes with glasses-free 3D, but that’s not what Samsung is really highlighting here. It’s that this is a 6K 3D monitor. Making this an “industry-first 6K 3D monitor.”
What’s really eye-catching, however, is that Samsung is boasting a 1,040Hz refresh rate. This is a blazing-fast refresh rate that is no doubt geared toward those who play games at a high competitive level, as it’s really not necessary for anyone other than that demographic. All these new monitors come with HDMI 2.1, of course, and Samsung will be showing them all off at CES 2026.
