Samsung officially began the rollout of the One UI 8 update to Galaxy devices earlier this month. After updating a handful of current flagships, the company has now started rolling out the One UI 8 firmware to two 2022 foldable flagships: the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. The update has reached them just a couple of days after the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 received it.
Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4’s One UI 8 update starts rolling out
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4’s Android 16-based One UI 8 update is out now in several regions. It is rolling out in many countries across Africa, Europe, and Asia. The new firmware build for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is “F936BXXUAIYIF” and for the Z Flip 4, it’s “F721BXXUAIYIF”. The size of the update is a little over 3GB.
Samsung is rolling out the new update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 in a phased manner. It could take some time to reach all the units of these phones. You can manually check if the update has aired for your device by going to Settings > Software update > Download and Install. If it hasn’t seeded yet, then just keep checking the settings every now and then for the next few days.

The update brings Android 16 goodies and more
Samsung’s One UI 8 update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 is based on Android 16. The firmware has newly redesigned Samsung Internet, Quick Share, and Weather apps. The Secure Folder is now more secure than before, while alarms, calendar entries, and reminders have also received updates.
Apart from the usual One UI 8 enhancements, the new update also brings the October 2025 security patch. Samsung will roll out the same update to several new devices soon, so watch this space for regular updates.
