The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is now getting the March 2026 Android security update. The update is now rolling out to the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The rollout has started in South Korea, Samsung’s homeland, but knowing Samsung, it will spread to a lot more markets in a matter of days. In fact, when you get around to reading this, it’s possible the update will already be in your region.
Even when it arrives, however, it’ll roll out in stages. In other words, many of you will need to be patient, as not everyone will get it at the same time.
March 2026 Android update delivers 67 security patches to the Galaxy S24 series
Speaking of which, this update is all about security. There are no new features included here. It brings the March 2026 Android security patch to the table, and that’s it, at least based on what we know thus far.
This update delivers fixes for 67 vulnerabilities, actually. 60 of those fixes come from Google, for Android, while Samsung added 7 One UI fixes. 8 fixes out of all of these 67 are marked as ‘critical’ in terms of importance.
That is pretty much it. The security boost is here, but that’s about it. This update is not exactly exciting, but it’s always good to know that your phone is as secure as it can be.
The One UI 8.5 beta update could be on the way soon
Do note that Samsung is already testing the One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S24 series internally. The company could even announce a beta program for those devices at some point this week.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 series phones are not exactly the latest and greatest from the company. It’s nice to see that they’re still getting proper support, and that will continue for a long time. Samsung promised 7 major Android OS updates for the three devices, and they arrived with Android 14 out of the box.
