With the advancing tech and hardware, the repairability of most modern smartphones remains a question. However, Samsung is taking another step forward to improve the repairability factor of its devices. The latest initiative of Samsung aims to make its phone repair process a lot faster, smoother, and more efficient than before.
Samsung aims to provide faster phone repairs and a smoother process
Samsung has introduced a new pilot program dubbed the “Baro Service Pilot Program” in South Korea. With this program, the company lets the Galaxy phone users get their devices repaired directly in the retail Samsung Stores. Since most retail outlets are more easily accessible than the service center, this program aims to provide a faster and smoother phone repair process for Samsung owners.
The service is currently available in four selected outlets: Galleria Gwanggyo, Samsong, Sangdo, and The Hyundai Seoul. Trained technicians have been deployed at these stores to provide convenient repair and inspection of the devices. General fixes like battery replacement or screen replacement will now be done in a single visit. This will cut down the long repair times exponentially.
Users can also expect advanced repairs to be done within 48 hours
Alongside the new pilot program, the company has launched the One Day Pickup option for its users. Devices requiring advanced repairs will be sent directly to the nearest service center and will be sent back to the store within 24-48 hours.
The initiative currently covers smartphones, tablets, wearables, and even small home appliances. Users of the aforementioned locations can get their Galaxy devices repaired much faster than before. Moreover, the company claims that the program reflects its ongoing mission to make after-sales service faster and more accessible for everyone.
