Samsung is taking a new step to control the leaks and rumors of its unreleased devices, including the Galaxy S27 series, by introducing secure chat. The tech giant has launched the tool specifically with the motive to protect sensitive discussions. If the firm really manages to protect the information, we will no longer get to hear rumors and leaks about the unreleased Galaxy devices.
Samsung tightens security with secure chat amid rising Galaxy S27 leaks
According to The Korea Herald, Samsung Electronics and its major affiliates have activated a secure chat feature within their internal communication platform. Once the feature is enabled, the employees cannot copy or paste messages. They also cannot forward conversations, take screenshots, or download chat logs to personal devices. Messages will be labeled more clearly, and the restrictions will run at the system level.
By introducing the secure chat feature, the Korean tech giant aims to reduce reliance on staff compliance. It opts to use technical controls to block potential data sharing before it begins. With the introduction of the feature, the firm hopes to discourage future Galaxy S27 leaks. The decision follows several incidents in which internal meeting materials, including executive instructions, appeared on anonymous workplace platforms and then leaked online.
No more leaks about unreleased Galaxy devices
While enthusiasts worldwide praise leaks and rumors, companies equally hate them for ruining their launches. However, the secure chat feature doesn’t necessarily mean that we will not get to hear about unreleased Galaxy devices. Afterall, the step closes only a single channel for the insiders. Tipsters may still find ways to share information. Further, Samsung has not made a public announcement beyond internal communication.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is set to launch officially in the coming weeks. Now, with the new secure chat being in place, it would be worth seeing if it can alone prevent leaks and rumors about the future Samsung devices.
