Samsung officially announced the Galaxy Z TriFold on December 1, 2025, with it being available in Korea about a week later. It eventually made it to a few other countries shortly after.
The Galaxy Z TriFold release date for the US is January 30, 2026, and it’ll start at $2,899. This came a week after Samsung put the Galaxy Z TriFold in its Samsung Experience Stores across the US, for customers to come by and check out.
Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is the company’s first TriFold device, and only the second one in the world that is actually available to buy, behind the Huawei Mate XT and Mate XTs, which explains why it is so popular and almost impossible to buy. Samsung is apparently only making about 300,000 units of the Galaxy Z TriFold, so it is an extremely limited quantity, making it much tougher to purchase and get support.

Take a smartphone with a 6.5-inch display and unfold it to unveil 10-inches of goodness, all while still fitting in your pocket. That’s the Galaxy Z TriFold.
It does come powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, which is a slightly older processor but still very capable. It came out in late 2024 as the main flagship chip for most 2025 smartphones. Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in September 2025. It also comes with 16GB of RAM and at least 512GB of storage. There is also a 1TB storage model available in some regions.
What makes the TriFold so special is that you have a 6.5-inch display on the front, which can be unfolded to unveil a 10-inch display. Now we’ve seen other foldables with an 8-inch display, but what makes this different is that it is not a square display. Instead its a rectangular display, making it much better for watching 16:9 content on it. There are still black bars, but they are much thinner. Meaning you are actually getting the full experience here.
