Samsung is making a change to the camera-related mistake it made with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will include a camera ring design similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, and thus fix the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s worst design flaw.

What’s going on? Well, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, as some of you may know, has camera rings that attracted a lot of criticism. That happened for two reasons, the camera rings both looked cheap, and there were also questions about their quality.
Well, Samsung decided to revert to that design and go with the arguably sleeker solution. Ice Universe says that the engineering version of the phone, which we’ve seen leak out (shown below), still has the Galaxy S25 Ultra-esque camera rings. Well, that has changed for the final production version.

The tipster also said that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will follow in the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s footsteps. It will also adopt this ring design, which is good news. He is not 100% sure of that yet, but it sure seems like it’s happening.
The device will become official on July 9
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will become official on July 9. The phone will launch during an event in New York, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will tag along. The same goes for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE and the Galaxy Watch 8 series.
Samsung’s new book-style foldable will be a lot thinner than its predecessor. Samsung will shave off over 3mm from its thickness when folded. It will bring it on the same level as the OPPO Find N5, which is currently the thinnest book-style foldable out there.
The phone will also be a lot lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The difference will shock you when you hold the two side-by-side, that’s for sure. Samsung is unfortunately not planning to adopt a silicon-carbon battery, though.
