Samsung is expanding its One UI 8 Watch Beta rollout to more Galaxy wearables. the firm is now adding the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro models to the mix. This lets users of the smartwatches try out the next OS version and all that it has to offer before the official release.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro get One UI 8 Watch beta
As usual, the One UI 8 Watch beta for the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro is rolling out in South Korea but may reach the US soon. You should see a notification about this in the Samsung Members app. The beta release suggests that Samsung may take its sweet time to issue the stable build. The company previously mentioned that it would release the stable One UI 8 Watch for more Galaxy Watches before the end of the year. While it may be on track, the progress sure seems slow.
Currently, the Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra (2024) are the only models to enjoy the stable One UI 8 Watch. Meanwhile, beta testing for the Galaxy Watch 6 series is currently ongoing, with the fifth beta build.

The beta update is live in Korea
Though the Galaxy Watch 5 users may have wanted the stable build, the beta build gives you a chance to check out all the goodies of the new version. The One UI 8 Watch upgrade brings improved hand gestures and the ability to add more widgets in tiles. You get features like Bedtime Guidance, Now Bar for real-time live updates, new watch faces, and a mindfulness feature.
There’s a new charging animation, a grid layout for the app drawer, and updated app icons. Notifications for messages now appear in grouped stacks, and you can clear them instantly through a double pinch gesture.
