Samsung officially expanded its flagship lineup last week with the debut of the Galaxy S26 series. While the Ultra model often steals the headlines, the Plus variant occupies a sweet “middle spot.” The Galaxy S26 Plus will be a favorite among those Samsung fans who want a larger device without the price tag of the top-tier handset.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus has dimensions of 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm. When comparing it to last year’s Galaxy S25 Plus, the new phone manages to maintain a pretty familiar—identical—footprint (158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm). Both models are twins even in terms of weight (190 grams). For the Galaxy S26 Plus, Samsung uses a premium aluminum frame for the chassis, paired with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the display for protection. The handset also retains its IP68 rating, ensuring it remains dust-tight and water-resistant for everyday mishaps.
Performance and internal upgrades
Under the hood, the US version of the Galaxy S26 Plus packs the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset from Qualcomm. This flagship processor offers noticeable power improvements over the previous generation, handling multitasking and gaming with ease. The phone comes standard with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and offers storage options of either 256GB or 512GB using the fast UFS 4.0 standard.
Battery-wise, it features a 4,900mAh cell with support for a wired connection at 45W. Samsung improved the wireless charging for this model (now 20W).
The camera setup on the Galaxy S26 Plus is still very flexible. The main sensor on the back is a Samsung GN3 with 50MP and an f/1.8 aperture. It also has OIS. It has a 12MP ultrawide lens with a 120-degree field of view and a 10MP telephoto lens that can zoom in 3x. The front of the device has a 12MP camera with Dual Pixel PDAF for sharp focus. You can use it for video calls and selfies.
Pricing and availability
For those looking to upgrade, the Galaxy S26 Plus starts at $1,099.99. Pre-orders are open through Samsung.com, Amazon, Best Buy, and major nationwide carriers. If you prefer to walk into a store and pick one up directly, general availability begins on March 11, 2026.
