Samsung unveiled its flagship Galaxy Book 6 series laptops earlier this year at CES 2026. After a long wait, they finally went on sale in the US last month. March 11th, to be precise. If you were planning to get one, you’re in for some bad news. The Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Pro and Galaxy Book 6 Ultra see a sharp price rise in the US just a month after launch.
Galaxy Book 6 Pro and Book 6 Ultra see a sharp price rise in the US just a month after launch
The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, which had an original starting price of $2,449, now starts at $2,899. That’s a massive price jump of $450 in just one month. On the other hand, the Galaxy Book 6 Pro, which was launched at $1,599, is now available for $1,799. That’s a $200 price hike.
The price hikes apply across the entire lineup, starting with the base models mentioned above. The top-end Galaxy Book 6 Ultra model now costs $3,599, and a similar Galaxy Book 6 Pro now costs $2,449. Though we hate to see prices going up, especially on products that were launched just last month, rising component costs may have forced Samsung to pass on the increase to customers.
It’s not just Samsung
Laptops aren’t the only Samsung products that are seeing a price hike. South Korea tech has silently increased the US price of the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s 512GB and 1TB models by $80. The reason is largely due to the rising component and memory costs. The 256GB version keeps the same price tag, fortunately.
It’s not just Samsung; many brands are going down the same path of increasing the prices of their products. Lenovo tablets in the US saw a significant price jump recently. Motorola also raised prices across its entire Moto G 2026 lineup. OPPO, Vivo, and OnePlus have also increased the prices of their devices in select regions.
