Samsung has started rolling out the June 2025 Android security update for the Galaxy A55 smartphone. The company is upgrading the international variant of the phone to the latest Android security level. Samsung is shipping the new firmware just a few days after upgrading the Galaxy A56 with the same firmware.
The Galaxy A55’s June 2025 update fixes many security flaws
According to SamMobile, the Galaxy A55’s June Android security update carries the firmware build “A556EXXU8BYF3.” It fixes many security issues. As per Samsung’s June 2025 security patch changelog, the company has fixed 19 vulnerabilities in its software through this update. It addresses issues related to Screen Capture, Fingerprint, Bluetooth, Theme Manager, Samsung Cloud, and more.
Furthermore, the Galaxy A55’s June 2025 security update includes fixes for 36 high-level Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) provided by Google. This Security Maintenance Release also includes patches from Samsung Semiconductor. Fortunately, the company did not mark any of the security issues as critical in the latest update.
Rolling out in select countries at the moment
Samsung is currently rolling out the June security update for the Galaxy A55 in three countries, including Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The company plans to roll out the same update to Galaxy A55 units in more regions, including China, Europe, and Korea, in the coming days. Samsung has released the update over the air in a phased manner, meaning it could take some time to reach all devices in the aforementioned three countries.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A55 in March last year with Android 14 and a promise of getting four major Android updates. The device will also receive the upcoming Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update. Samsung is currently testing the new software in a beta version on its flagship devices in select countries. However, there’s no word on when exactly the brand will release the new OS for older mid-range phones like the Galaxy A55 at the moment.
