REDMAGIC has a new and upcoming gaming tablet that is said to be compact just like the REDMAGIC Astra, with the company having teased this new device back in early March. It’s not clear just yet what REDMAGIC plans to call this tablet in the US or the rest of its global launch regions. However, in China it looks to be called the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro.
In REDMAGIC’s teaser, there’s not a whole lot information about the device other than the name and that it’s coming soon, and there’s a silhouette of the tablet’s shape being held by a robotic hand, suggesting its more compact size. As of today, though, new details have emerged that mention at least a few specs that can be expected from this upcoming gaming device.
The new compact gaming tablet from REDMAGIC may have at least a 9,000mAh battery
One of the key specs that gamers will want to know with regard to a new gaming tablet is going to be the battery. The REDMAGIC Astra lasted a decent amount of time for mobile gaming during our testing, but there’s always room for improvement. This is where the Astra’s rumored follow-up device may come in.
According to Digital Chat Station (via 9To5Google), the upcoming tablet will have one of the largest batteries in its class. If this is the case, then REDMAGIC could be looking to surpass the Astra with the battery in this new device. That would likely lead to longer gaming sessions, and probably happier users.
In addition, Digital Chat Station also states that the tablet will come powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and that it will feature a 200Hz refresh rate display. That’s considerably more than what’s offered on competing devices, so it should be a nice step up. Although, not many mobile games make use of a refresh rate that high.
