Live Your NASCAR Dream
Fans of NASCAR are in for a treat. If you’ve been following the sport, chances are you might’ve heard of Ram’s return to the Craftsman Truck Series. For its driver lineup next year, the company is looking for fresh faces to pilot the No. 25 Kaulig Ram 1500. The truckmaker announced Kaulig Racing as the factory team for its return to NASCAR.

Ram’s Free Agent program will offer drivers from different motorsport disciplines an opportunity to learn alongside its full-time drivers, Brenden “Butterbean” Queen, Daniel Dye, and Justin Haley. The company, in its latest press release, said, “The Free Agent seat will be occupied by a mix of racing talent with a passion for motorsports. Each driver brings their own unique history, creating a fresh storyline for every race.”

Ram’s even open to resumes. Interested candidates are free to email them at motorsports@ramtrucks.com. The approval process will go through NASCAR’s criteria first and Kaulig Racing’s management team after that.
Matt Kaulig, owner of Kaulig Racing, said, “The Free Agent seat gives us the flexibility to bring in talent while keeping fans on their toes.” He further added, “Each driver will bring something unique to the team. It’s a new idea and exactly the kind of energy we want heading into 2026.”
But There’s a Catch
It’s worth pointing out that Free Agent drivers cannot exactly take home the Craftsman Truck Series cup. Technically, these drivers will only be competing against each other and won’t be part of the actual championship. In the words of the CEO himself, “No. 25 isn’t chasing points; we are chasing something bigger, celebrating and amplifying fan engagement with the Free Agents, Kaulig Racing, and the Ram brand. That’s the sole mission.”

He told NASCAR.com, “You know, they can’t get in and drive the car, but they can live vicariously through these people. So we said, how do we expand that past these three drivers, and that’s where the idea of the free agent car came from.”
Ram and Kaulig Racing will announce the Free Agent driver on the Monday leading up to each race. Whoever among these drivers posts the best individual track performance will be awarded a prize incentive. So as potential racers, there’s still plenty to look forward to.
