- Designer reimagines Ram 1500 as a widebody two-door street truck.
- Inspired by the 2004 SRT-10, it sports Viper wheels and quad tailpipes.
- Could theoretically use the supercharged Hemi V8 from the Demon 170.
The recent launch of the Ram 1500 Lowered by Mopar and Fox Factory has us thinking about the wild Viper-powered SRT-10 from the early 2000s.
While Ram has long since left behind the impractical but irresistibly cool two-door layout, a new digital concept from Abimelec Design reimagines how an SRT-10 for the modern era might look today.
Bringing SRT Vibes Back Into Trucks
The project begins with a 1500 Tungsten that’s been digitally reshaped into a short-wheelbase, two-door street truck. The stance sits dramatically lower, and wider alloy wheels borrowed from the discontinued Dodge Viper give it some excellent street cred.

The custom body kit features color-matched fender extensions, a coordinated front splitter, and a prominent hood with integrated vents. At the rear, a sportier bumper hosts quad tailpipes, while a discreet spoiler perches on the edge of the bed.
The result feels like a proper tribute to the SRT-10, though it could get even closer to its predecessor with the addition of dual white stripes running across the hood, roof, and tailgate. The two-door body has unconventional proportions, boasting a significantly more compact footprint compared to the dual-cab variant.

The independent designer notes that Chrysler pioneered the sport truck segment with the Lil’ Red Express back in the ’70s, being the fastest American vehicle of its time. The company also broke the record for the fastest production truck with the V10-powered SRT10 in 2004.
Could the Street Truck Make A Comeback?
While street trucks have largely fallen out of fashion in the US, there are calls for their return. Ford is currently limited to the Lobo appearance package for the F-150, and GM is absent from the sport truck game altogether.

Ram, on the other hand, has ventured partway there with the 1500 Lowered, featuring a more aggressive body kit, tweaked suspension, and a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8 rated at 650 horsepower. It’s a potent machine, though technically a collaboration between Mopar and Fox Factory rather than a fully in-house project.

Abimelec leaves the question of powertrain open to his audience, though one obvious candidate stands out. Our bet would be on the most potent Hemi ever dropped into a production vehicle, the SRT Demon 170 – I mean, if we’re already living in fantasy land, we might as well go all in, right?
The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 produces up to 1,025 hp (764 kW / 1,039 PS) and 945 lb-ft (1,281 Nm) of torque when running on E85 fuel. That’s a serious leap over the 650 horsepower of the 1500 Lowered and enough to put just about every rival truck in its rearview mirror, even those built by most aftermarket tuners.
Would you want to see Ram take things even further with a full-blown performance version of the 1500, or should it stay focused on the rough-and-ready Baja-style trucks like the TRX?
