The rumor mill for Google’s upcoming smartphones is already in full swing. Previous leaks have offered us clues about the designs of the upcoming Google Pixel 10 series. Now, a report shows leaked cases of the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro, adding a fit test with a Pixel 9 Pro to test potential differences in dimensions.
Google Pixel 10 series’ leaked cases fit a Pixel 9 Pro, but…
According to the report (by Android Authority), a Google Pixel 9 Pro surprisingly fit almost perfectly into a case designed for the standard Pixel 10. This particular case, manufactured by Thinborne, showed impressive alignment. All cutouts and ports—even the antenna section—line up seamlessly. This strongly suggests that the dimensions of the upcoming standard Pixel 10 could be nearly identical to those of the current Pixel 9 Pro. So, if you’ve been eyeing the Pixel 9 Pro’s form factor, you might find a familiar feel in the Pixel 10.

However, the story wasn’t quite as simple with the Pixel 9 Pro fit on the Pixel 10 Pro case. The Pixel 9 Pro could be squeezed into the Pixel 10 Pro case without any strange cracks or damage. However, it was a “little tricky,” as the report notes. After placing the phone in the case, several elements didn’t quite line up. For instance, the rear camera bar didn’t fit completely since there was a gap of leftover space. Plus, key components like a microphone and speaker were covered by the case’s design.
What does this mean for current Pixel 9 owners hoping to reuse their cases? Unfortunately, it seems highly unlikely. The next-gen Pixel 10 devices might look very similar to the Pixel 9 series at first glance. However, there are subtle shifts that will force you to invest in new cases for your Pixel 10 handsets. Google appears to be making just enough design tweaks to ensure current accessories won’t be cross-compatible. It’s a small detail, but an important one for anyone planning their upgrade.
