Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs Motorola Razr 2025: Design
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is made out of aluminum and glass. The Motorola Razr 2025, on the other hand, has an aluminum frame, and a silicon polymer back. Motorola’s device is notably more grippy because of that backplate. Both phones include a main display with a centered display camera hole up top. The bezels around the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s display are thinner, though.
You’ll notice all the physical buttons on the right-hand side, on both phones. The placement is also similar. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a larger cover display with notably thinner bezels. However, both cover displays go around the rear cameras. Speaking of which, those cameras look similar, and have a similar placement. They’re located in the top-left corner, they’re horizontally aligned, side-by-side.
The Motorola Razr 2025 is taller, narrower, and thicker smartphone out of the two. The weight here is completely identical. Unlike the Galaxy Z Flip 7, the Motorola Razr 2025 does not have a flat frame. Both smartphones also come with an IP48 certification for water and dust resistance. Despite their similarities, the two phones do feel different to both hold and use.Â
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs Motorola Razr 2025: Display
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a 6.9-inch Foldable Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X main display. That panel has an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz), while HDR10+ is supported here. This panel also offers a 2,600 nits peak brightness. The screen-to-body ratio is at around 88%, while the display aspect ratio is 21:9. The resolution here is 2520 x 1080. The cover display measures 4.1 inches, and it’s a Super AMOLED panel. A 120Hz refresh rate is on offer too, while the peak brightness is 2,600 nits. The resolution here is 1048 x 948, and the display is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

The Motorola Razr 2025, on the flip side, comes with a 6.9-inch Foldable LTPO AMOLED display. That panel can project up to 1 billion colors, and has an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). HDR10+ content is supported here. The peak brightness is 3,000 nits. The screen-to-body ratio here is around 84%, while the resolution is 2640 x 1080. The cover panel measures 3.6 inches, while this is an AMOLED panel. It can also project up to 1 billion colors, and has a 90Hz refresh rate. HDR10+ content is supported too, while the peak brightness is 1,700 nits. The resolution here is 1066 x 1056 pixels, and the display is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus.
All four of these displays are really good, actually. They’re vivid, have good viewing angles, and they’re more than sharp enough. The touch response is also good, and the blacks are as deep as you’d expect them to be. The Galaxy Z Flip 7’s cover display does have the advantage of being larger and having a higher refresh rate, not to mention that it gets brighter. Other than that, they’re basically on the same playing field.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs Motorola Razr 2025: Performance
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is fueled by the Exynos 2500 processor. That is Samsung’s 3nm chip, and it’s paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. UFS 4.0 flash storage is also used here. The Motorola Razr 2025, on the other hand, is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400X chip, a 4nm processor. This smartphone comes with 8GB of RAM, and includes UFS 2.2 flash storage. Neither phone supports expandable storage, by the way.
When it comes to general performance, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 definitely has the edge. It is notably smoother, as the Motorola Razr 2025 does have some choppiness to its performance. It’s not present all the time, but it is quite frequent, it all depends on what you’re doing. The performance is not bad, but compared directly to what the Galaxy Z Flip 7 offers, it’s sure noticeable.
Samsung’s smartphone will also be a better choice for gaming. Its processor is more powerful, not to mention that the device has more RAM to offer. Granted, neither of these two smartphones is made for gaming, so that’s something you should take into consideration before getting either of them.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs Motorola Razr 2025: Battery
You’ll find a 4,300mAh battery included inside the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. The Motorola Razr 2025, on the flip side, comes with a 4,500mAh battery pack. Despite the fact the Motorola Razr 2025 has a slightly larger battery pack, its battery life is worse in comparison. We’ve managed to cross the 7-hour screen-on time mark with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, even though we usually flew a bit below that mark.
Well, the Motorola Razr 2025 is closer to 6 hours of screen-on time as its maximum, at least that was the case for us most of the time. It even flew below that level a number of times. It all depends on how you use the device, of course, your experience could be notably different. One thing is for sure, neither one of these two phones offers outstanding battery life. The Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 beats both of them, easily.
The Motorola Razr 2025 does beat the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in the charging department, however. It supports 30W wired and 15W wireless charging. The Galaxy Z Flip 7, on the other hand, supports 25W wired, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. The difference in wired charging doesn’t seem to be that pronounced on paper, but in reality, it is. The Motorola Razr 2025 is fully charged in about 55 minutes, while it’ll take the Galaxy Z Flip 7 around an hour and a half to get there. Neither phone comes with a charger in the box, though.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs Motorola Razr 2025: Cameras
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 includes two cameras on the back. The phone ships with a 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.57-inch sensor size), and a 12-megapixel ultrawide snapper (1/3.2-inch sensor size, 123-degree FoV). The Motorola Razr 2025, on the other hand, has a 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.95-inch sensor size) and a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera (3.0-inch sensor size, 120-degree FoV).

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 does have a better main camera, and that is easily noticeable when you compare the pictures. They look more vivid and richer on the Galaxy Z Flip 7, while the main camera is also more consistent. On top of that, it does a better job in low light. The Motorola Razr 2025’s camera images can look good, but it all depends. They also do seem a bit washed out at times, for some reason.
Neither ultrawide camera is great, in all honesty. They’re both adequate, but we’ve seen far better ultrawide snappers on the market. Use the ones here only if you really have to, otherwise the main cameras are a far better choice. It’s unfortunate that neither phone offers a zoom camera.
Audio
Both of these smartphones include stereo speakers. The ones on the Motorola Razr 2025 are louder in comparison, though. The sound output quality is good on both ends, in case you were wondering.
There is no audio jack included on either of these two smartphones, however. You’ll need to rely on the Type-C port that they both offer. That will require a dongle, if you’re planning to hook up your wired headphones. Bluetooth 5.4 is on offer on both phones, though, for wireless connectivity.
