Signify’s Philips Hue is one of the more popular brands when it comes to smart home appliances and systems. However, the competition is stiff in the smart home space, but the company is sitting on its hands. At IFA 2025, the company has taken the wraps off a bunch of new Philips Hue devices that you might want to check out if you’re looking to give your home a smart upgrade.
Bridge Pro comes with higher device limits

At $89.99, the Philips Hue Bridge Pro isn’t cheap, but it’s targeting users who’ve been reaching device limits for years. The new hub supports 150+ lights and 50 accessories, which is triple the capacity of the current bridge. You can also connect it via Wi-Fi instead of being stuck with an ethernet cable.
The MotionAware feature needs at least three Hue lights in a room to triangulate your position accurately. Once set up, it can trigger automations when you walk in or send security alerts if it detects unexpected movement. This could be a game-changer for folks who want smart lighting without cluttering their home with sensors.
Meet the Essential lineup

Philips is also launching the Essential line to compete with cheaper brands like Govee. These bulbs start at $24.99 for A19 models. This is significantly less than standard Hue bulbs. The Essential lights aren’t as bright and can’t dim as low as premium Hue products, but they still work with the full Philips Hue 2025 ecosystem.
The Essential range includes A19 bulbs, GU10 spotlights, strip lights, and flexible strip lights. They work via Bluetooth for basic control, but you’ll need a bridge to unlock advanced features like scenes and automations.
OmniGlow light strips

The Hue lineup is no stranger when it comes to light strips. However, the company has announced the OmniGlow strips, which apparently promise to be the first “perfectly spot-free” option from Philips Hue. These new Philip Hue devices use tiny LEDs less than 0.5mm across to create seamless light without visible individual points. At $139.99 for a three-meter strip, they don’t come cheap. The company is also rolling out regular Flux indoor strips, extra bright versions, and outdoor options including bendable Neon strips.
Philips Hue Secure doorbell

Video doorbells are usually Amazon’s territory, but Philips Hue is challenging that with its new Secure doorbell. The video doorbell features a 2K resolution and is priced at $169.99. It captures head-to-toe footage and integrates with your existing Hue lights. Imagine your outdoor lights automatically turning on when someone rings the bell. There’s also a separate chime for $59.99 that can double as a siren if needed.
Later this year, all Secure camera users will get 24 hours of free video storage, which is pretty generous compared to most competitors who charge for cloud storage.
