BNBuilders, in partnership with Gensler, has completed the first phase of Pacific Center, a major life sciences campus developed by Sterling Bay in San Diego’s Sorrento Mesa neighborhood. The 690,000-square-foot project consists of four new buildings and substantial site improvements.
Included in Phase I are two six-story lab and office facilities, a 12-story parking structure and a two-story mass timber amenity center. “Our goal was to build a space that not only meets the technical needs of life sciences tenants but also fosters connection and well-being for the entire community,” said Alessandra Lapadula, project executive at BNBuilders. “The use of mass timber brought both beauty and sustainability to the heart of the project.”
Groundbreaking on the first phase of Pacific Center, a partnership of Sterling Bay and Harrison Street, took place in June 2023. The project’s second phase will include a 279,000-square-foot, six-story office building.
