The arrival of a new flagship phone is always a big deal. For a brand as big as OPPO, the leaks for its Find series are closely watched by tech enthusiasts. Lately we have learned a lot of details about the features and powerful cameras of the OPPO Find X9 Ultra. Now, a new listing on the popular performance benchmark site Geekbench has confirmed which chip will power the upcoming OPPO Find X9, the base version in the series.
OPPO Find X9 chip confirmed by Geekbench: MediaTek Dimensity 9500
Tipster Abhishek Yadav spotted the device on Geekbench with the model number CPH2791. According to reports, this will be the OPPO Find X9. The most significant revelation from the listing is that the phone will be powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9500 chipset. The benchmark also provides a glimpse into the chip’s core configuration. It will have a main core clocked at 4.21 GHz, three high-performance cores at 3.50 GHz, and four efficiency cores at 2.70 GHz.
The listing further reveals that the Find X9 prototype is running on the latest Android 16 OS. The unit under test also features a generous 16GB of RAM, a combination that promises smooth performance. In terms of graphics, the phone is tipped to feature the Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU.
Hardware tested at low power
Interestingly, the benchmark scores from the listing are lower than what you might expect from a top-tier chip. The device recorded a single-core score of 2,383 and a multi-core score of 3,365. However, this is because the chip was operating at low power during the test. This is common practice for manufacturers when testing early prototypes. The phone also posted a respectable OpenCL GPU score of 17,417, which gives us a better sense of its graphical power.
The Geekbench numbers aren’t yet representative of the power of the upgraded phone. However, the listing serves to confirm the OPPO Find X9’s key specs, including chipset and RAM. The Dimensity 9500 aims to be a powerhouse that will compete with chips from Qualcomm, Apple, and Samsung in the coming months.
