Earlier this month, we provided you with an exclusive look at the design of the upcoming OnePlus Nord 5 mid-range smartphone. Additionally, we also shared the key specifications of the device well ahead of the official announcement. Now, OnePlus has officially confirmed the key camera specs of the Nord 5, matching our report.
It appears that the upcoming Nord will be a loaded offering, as it’ll share some camera specs with flagship phones, including the brand’s own OnePlus 13 and even Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra.
OnePlus Nord 5 will “steal” cameras from recent flagship Android phones
OnePlus has announced that the Nord 5 will offer a 50MP Sony LYT-700 main camera sensor. This lens is also present at the back of the OnePlus 13R model. Furthermore, it will be assisted by OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and the OnePlus 13’s flagship HDR algorithm.
Furthermore, OnePlus has revealed that the Nord 5 will have a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN5 front-facing camera with multi-focusing. The company mentioned that the device “stole” its front camera from “a 2025 Ultra” phone. It suggests a connection to Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, Samsung’s latest Ultra flagship has this sensor at the rear camera island.

The secondary sensor on the rear camera system is a much more modest 8MP ultra-wide. Sadly, OnePlus is still stuck with that resolution for the ultra-wide lens on its mid-rangers. You won’t find a telephoto camera or anything like that either.
OnePlus has also shared a render of the Nord 5, which shows a design that’s exactly similar to the photos we exclusively shared earlier. The phone will have a vertical dual camera island at the top-left corner of the rear and a punch-hole design to house the selfie shooter. The design places the volume rocker and power button on the right side, while the left side features the Action Button.
The features we know so far
As per our sources, the OnePlus Nord 5 will have a 6.83-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and feature IP65 ingress protection. The phone will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, supported by up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Lastly, the battery could come equipped with a battery of around 7,000 mAh and support for 80W fast charging.
OnePlus will hold a product launch event on July 8th, and the Nord 5 will be the main focus of the event. Apart from the mid-ranger, OnePlus will also introduce the Nord CE 5 and Buds 4 TWS earphones during the event. We’ll have more details in a couple of weeks, so stay tuned for regular updates.
