
OnePlus’ 4-year-old flagship has started getting the Android 16 update. The phone in question is the OnePlus 10 Pro, and it started getting Android 16 with OxygenOS 16 on board.
This smartphone was announced back in January 2022 with Android 12. The update has started to roll out in India, though it will reach more global markets in the near future. It is rolling out in stages, so you’ll need to be patient.

This update improves animations quite a bit. They now begin and end at intuitive places, and are even smoother than before. Various other visual improvements have been introduced, ranging from animations to general visual changes.
Trinity Engine optimizes workload and resources on the fly, which should make the phone smoother than before. Photo albums will now load faster and use less power when displaying thumbnails.
Power saving mode now features tiered performance management that adapts to battery level and ensures longer endurance with smoother performance.
Plenty of new AI features have been injected into OxygenOS 16
OnePlus Photos app received a huge AI-boost and some new features, while more AI features have been pushed to Notes and Recorder apps as well. There’s plenty to read about when it comes to those apps.
OnePlus has also changed the design of the home screen a bit, while more lock screen customization features are on offer. AI-powered Flux themes deliver even more customization, while Quick Settings tiles now offer expanded customization.
