The OnePlus 15 is coming later this year, and based on a new report, it will feature a major change on the back. The information comes from Digital Chat Station, by the way, one of the most prominent Chinese tipsters.
The OnePlus 15 will ditch circular camera design, it seems
His post claims that OnePlus plans to ditch a circular camera island. The OnePlus 15 will, instead, feature a rounded-corner rectangle-shaped island, which will sit in the top-left corner of the phone.
If that sounds familiar, well, the OnePlus 13T aka OnePlus 13s has such a camera design. So, as far as the shape is concerned, that’s what we’ll likely get on the OnePlus 15. Chances are it will be a bit bigger, though.
Some reports suggested that the OnePlus 15 will not feature Hasselblad co-branding, and thus not the company’s help. However, since then, OnePlus and Hasselblad have prolonged their partnership, so… chances are Hasselblad will be included in the mix.
The phone is also tipped to feature a lower-res display compared to the OnePlus 13. It will be a great panel, though, allegedly, with LIPO tech and very thin bezels around. A 1.5K resolution is expected.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip is tipped, along with a huge battery
A 50-megapixel main camera is also tipped, along with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor. A 7,000mAh-7,500mAh battery is rumored, though it remains to be seen how accurate that info is. The phone will also support 100W wired charging, and likely 50W wireless charging.
You’ll also notice that the OnePlus 14 model is getting skipped. The number ‘4’ is considered to be unlucky in China, which is why. OnePlus did use it thus far, but only for only for some devices. It skipped the OnePlus 4 as well, we skipped from the OnePlus 3 to OnePlus 5 way back in the day.
The OnePlus 15 is expected to launch towards the end of the year, but it will not reach global markets until Q1 next year… at least that was the case in the last couple of years with the company’s flagships.
