Some interesting OnePlus 15 details have just surfaced, including one hinting at the end of OnePlus’ high-profile camera partnership. The information comes from Digital Chat Station, one of the best-known tipster. Let’s dive in.
The OnePlus 15 could arrive without Hasselblad’s branding and expertise
Let’s tackle the juiciest rumor of all first. Based on what the tipster said, OnePlus could to its own image brand. That would likely mean the end to the company’s Hasselblad partnership, even though that’s not specifically mentioned.
OnePlus’ flagship phones have been offering really compelling camera performance for years now. Many have attributed that to Hasselblad, at least partially. The company’s color-tuning is outstanding. It would not be a great move to lose that, that’s for sure.
OnePlus kicked off this partnership back in 2021
This partnership has been live since the OnePlus 9 series back in 2021. So it has been around 4 years at this point.
The tipster also hinted that the phone will be fueled by the SM8550 chip from Qualcomm. That is a successor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It will likely be called the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, based on rumors.
The OnePlus 15 will include a 6.78-inch 1.5K flat LIPO display. The OnePlus 13, for comparison’s sake, has a 6.82-inch QHD+ aka 2K display that is quad-curved. So, it has curved edges.
There 50-megapixel cameras are tipped
Bezels on the phone will also be very thin. The phone will not have a circular camera island, at least the current prototype does not. Three 50-megapixel cameras are also tipped to be included. Main, ultrawide, and periscope telephoto cameras are expected.
For those of you who are wondering why is there no OnePlus 14, the number 4 is considered to be unlucky in China. OnePlus also skipped the OnePlus 4 way back in the day. This smartphone will launch towards the end of the year. It will arrive to global markets in Q1 2026, most likely.
