As OnePlus continues to tease the OnePlus 15 ahead of its launch next month, today the company has decided to share some photo samples from the new camera. And it does show that the telephoto is now a 3.7x telephoto versus the 3x telephoto from the OnePlus 13.
These images come directly from OnePlus on their Weibo account, so it’s important to remember that while these images might be real, they could have been taken by a professional photographer, to provide you with the best pictures possible. Which is quite common with smartphone OEMs.
The watermarks on these images do offer some important details, though. For example, these were shot at 85mm, which is equivalent to a 3.7x telephoto camera. The OnePlus 13 had a 70mm camera that was 3x, so it’s a pretty nice zoom improvement here. It also indicates a f/2.8 aperture which is likely from software adjustments. Something that smartphone companies have been doing for years. However, other rumors have pointed at a f/2.8 tele lens for the OnePlus 15 already.
From what we have seen, the OnePlus 15 will sport a slightly smaller 50-megapixel 3.7x telephoto lens compared to the OnePlus 13. With a slightly narrower aperture of f/2.8 versus the f/2.6 on the OnePlus 13.
Launching in China on October 27
OnePlus has already teased that the OnePlus 15 would be launching in China on October 27. Which means that we’re just under a month away at this point. But what about a global launch? OnePlus typically does the global launch in January, but where they are teasing this on the US and Global social media channels already, it leads us to believe that it’ll launch sooner than early 2026.
The OnePlus 15 will likely be the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 device to launch in the US, since the only other one is basically the Galaxy S26 series which is coming in January.
