Samsung is currently running a massive software rollout. The company is pushing the stable version of One UI 8—built on top of Android 16—to a wide range of devices, hitting key models like the Samsung Galaxy S23 series—including the FE model—the Galaxy Tab S10+, the mid-ranger Galaxy A55, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, and the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Additionally, the rollout is starting significantly ahead of the official schedule.
As usual, the collapse is beginning in South Korea, Samsung’s home market. This rapid rollout signals that global users should expect to see a notification to download the new software much sooner than expected.

What makes this rollout significant is its breadth. The stable One UI 8 update has landed on the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra (S91xNKSU6EYI7). The Galaxy S23 FE model is also getting better with the new software (S711NKSU9DYI5).
But Samsung didn’t stop there. The upgrade is also reaching the 2023 foldable line, with both the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 (F946NKSU5FYI8) getting the stable version, defying initial timelines. Even the tablet side is benefiting, with the Galaxy Tab S10+ (X820OXM4CVI5) receiving the update ahead of schedule. Perhaps most notably, the mid-range Galaxy A55 (A556SKSU6CYI6) is also getting the major software jump, ensuring a wide range of users benefit from the new platform.
Enhanced productivity and security
The update to One UI 8 is far from a minor patch; it brings a wealth of features based on the underlying changes in Android 16.
For users who leverage their device for work, the biggest change is the enhanced DeX experience. Leveraging Android 16’s native Desktop Mode, the new DeX is cleaner, more polished, and more powerful. Overall, it offers a genuine desktop interface when you connect your phone or tablet to an external screen.
Security also gets an upgrade with a more secure version of the Secure Folder. Meanwhile, basic file transfer improves significantly as Samsung revamps Quick Share, making file exchange with other Galaxy devices a smoother process.
Beyond the major features, the update streamlines daily interactions. Users will find a new gesture for quick access to controls in the Camera app, and core organizational tools like Alarms, Calendar, and Reminders feature better management capabilities. Even the customizable Modes and Routines receive new actions, giving users powerful new ways to automate their device use.
If you own any of these recent Galaxy devices, keep an eye on your notification panel. Samsung’s rapid pace means the next-generation Android experience is likely only days away from reaching your device.
