Samsung’s One UI 8.5 stable debuted with the Galaxy S26 series last month. The beta testing for the Galaxy S25 series began way back in December. It has yet to receive the stable update, though. Earlier this month, the company launched the beta program for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Now, it seems like Samsung is gearing up for further expansion of One UI 8.5 beta.
Samsung may be preparing for One UI 8.5 beta expansion
The first One UI 8.5 beta build for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Flip 6 was spotted on Samsung’s server. This suggests that the South Korean tech giant is preparing to launch the beta program for its 2024 flagship devices. Possibly within this month.
The leak shows the One UI 8.5 beta build for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has the firmware version F956BXXU3ZZCB. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 carries F741BXXU3ZZCB firmware. When it goes live, the beta build may be available in India, South Korea, and select European Countries. However, the timeline might vary across regions.
Beta builds for Galaxy S25 FE and S24 FE
Following weeks of testing in the beta stage, the stable build will be out for these phones. Now that the Galaxy S25 series is close to receiving a stable One UI 8.5 update, next in line for beta would naturally be the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 foldables. Unlike the Galaxy S25 lineup, the beta testing for these 2024 flagships may not run as long, but then we can’t say for sure.
Besides this, the first One UI 8.5 beta build for the Galaxy S25 FE and S24 FE was spotted on the internal servers. What makes this development interesting is that Samsung has never included Fan Edition devices in its beta programs before. It seems that things may finally change. That said, there’s a chance this could be internal testing.
