The wait is finally over for many Galaxy fans as Samsung expands the One UI 8.5 beta program to more devices. Originally exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7, this pre-release software is now making its way to several fan-favorite models including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6.
One UI 8.5 Beta expands to the Galaxy S24 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6 & ‘FE’ models
The eligibility list for the One UI 8.5 beta program has grown significantly. Users with a Galaxy S24 series device, along with those owning the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, can now jump into the action. Samsung hasn’t forgotten about its “Fan Edition” enthusiasts either. Both the Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy S24 FE are receiving their first One UI 8.5 beta as well. Even the Galaxy Tab S11 is joining the program in select regions.
Currently, the rollout is active in key markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Korea, and India. If your device isn’t on the list yet, there is no need to worry. Samsung already announced it will extend the beta to even more Galaxy devices starting in April.
How to get involved
Joining the expanded One UI 8.5 beta program is relatively straightforward. If you live in a supported region and own a compatible device, you can register via the Samsung Members app. Once you open the app, look for the registration banner at the top of the home screen. After signing up, the beta update should appear in your device’s standard software update settings within a few hours or days.
It’s noteworthy that the beta firmware isn’t the final version. It’s mainly a way to fix bugs as users report them while testing the new features. So, you might run into bugs or problems with battery life or performance. It is recommended to back up your data before installing.
