NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW is in its final week of March game releases and it’s been a pretty big month for the service, with this week adding a total of five new games, one of which is the Screamer reboot. Screamer is a high-octane racer with anime-style aesthetics and a story to match. This week also includes the latest update for Honkai Star Rail. The update pushes the game to version 4.1 called ‘Unraveled for Daybreak.’ This update officially launched on March 25, so GeForce NOW subscribers are getting access almost immediately.
In addition to the new Honkai Star Rail patch and the availability of Screamer, GeForce NOW is adding four other games. These are King’s Quest (the Ubisoft Connect version), the Xbox versions of Battletech and Despot’s Game, and the Steam launch of Diablo II: Resurrected.
Screamer comes to GeForce NOW with support for RTX 5080 performance
If you’re subscribing to GeForce NOW with the Ultimate plan, then you’ll be able to dive into Screamer with the full support of RTX 5080 performance. This includes enhanced visuals, smoother gameplay, and several other features that make the most of this stylish release.
Screamer is a reboot of a 1990s arcade racer that you may actually be familiar with. If not, you can actually still grab the game on Steam for about $7 on sale. This new title picks up an anime-style aesthetic. It also adds in an entire story to follow with full-on voice acting and some new features.
It still focuses heavily on the arcade-style racing though, and places a lot of emphasis on fighting mechanics to gain an edge in the race. Since the game is much newer the graphics are obviously much better. Chances are controls aren’t nearly as clunky either. That being said, it’s also worth remembering that the original game was made in 1995.
The original was also developed by Graffiti and published by Interplay. Graffiti is now Milestone, which is handling both the development and publishing if this reboot. If you never played the original, you may have checked out some of Milestone’s more recent works. The MotoGP series is likely the most well-known these days.
