One Man’s $77M Ferrari Obsession Becomes the Auction of the Year

One of the most impressive Ferrari-focused auctions in recent memory is about to take place. RM Sotheby’s will offer The Tailored for Speed Collection at The Dolder Grand Hotel in Zürich on 11 October 2025, a single-owner treasure trove filled with the rarest supercars and hypercars in the world. The collection spans vintage Ferrari grand tourers, cutting-edge hypercars, and track-only machines, with 42 cars going under the hammer. With newer Ferrari models getting mixed reviews, including the 849 Testarossa, Ferrari fanatics have a chance to be reminded why they fell in love with the brand in the first place.

The modern Ferraris in this collection showcase the peak of Maranello engineering. From the stunning Daytona SP3 to the topless SP1 and the ultra-rare 812 Competizione A, these 20 Ferraris represent some of the most sought-after models of the 21st century. All are in pristine condition, with minimal mileage, striking factory or expensive Tailor Made specifications, and Swiss delivery from new. 9 cars in the collection are strictly built for the track, with most of them flaunting a prancing horse. However, based on the low-end estimates, the total value of the collection is roughly $67 million, with high-end estimates pushing it to about $77 million. With more than half of the cars up for sale being offered without a reserve price, it’s safe to say most of them will find new homes by next month. This auction is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for collectors to secure some of the most coveted cars in the world.
