The RTX 50 Super series of graphics cards has been delayed. While NVIDIA has not yet officially announced these new graphics cards, rumors of the Super model of its current series of GPUs have been floating around for months. The next Super cards were suspected to be launching in 2026, but that no longer seems to be the case, as NVIDIA, like other manufacturers in the consumer electronics space, continues to face DRAM supply shortages. The launch of these new models was already suspected of being delayed.
While the RTX 50 Super series GPUs are reportedly seeing a delay, consumers will have to settle for the regular RTX 50 series GPUs in the meantime. At least, if they’re looking to upgrade and pick up a new GPU. The problem with this at the moment is that prices are skyrocketing. RTX 50 series GPUs at or close to the MSRP that NVIDIA quoted during its announcement are disappearing quite fast. The solution for some will be to wait things out, just like some of the companies are with DRAM modules. That could mean a long wait, though, as there’s still no confirmation on exactly when the RTX 50 Super series is launching.
The RTX 50 Super GPUs are not the only ones that were delayed
This probably comes as no surprise, but with the delay of the RTX 50 Super GPUs, NVIDIA has no reason to release its next-gen GPUs according to whatever the schedule would have been. As noted by Wccftech, the RTX 60 series GPUs have been delayed as well. DRAM supply shortages have set NVIDIA back with the manufacturing of its next-gen cards. These were set for a release window in late 2027. However, without the RAM needed to make the GPUs, NVIDIA has no choice, it seems, but to push things back further.
This sort of makes sense if the RTX 50 Super GPUs are being pushed back. Those models may now be launching in 2027. So it could be 2028 or later before the RTX 60 series GPUs are made available for consumers. In addition to this, consumers can likely expect prices of both the RTX 50 Super and RTX 60 GPUs to be higher than the RTX 50 GPUs were at launch. This is especially considering the already increased prices. NVIDIA is suspected to raise the base price of current-generation GPUs by up to 30%.
