- The Skyline 400R Limited will be exclusive to Japan, capped at just 400 units.
- Power comes from Nissan’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo six with 400 hp and 350 lb-ft.
- New version may include exclusive exterior and interior trim and design details.
Nissan has been building the current Skyline sedan in Japan since 2014, but despite its age and the fact that the Infiniti-branded version sold in the US has been discontinued, it is still kicking in its home market.
Now, it’s set to gain a livelier addition to the lineup: the Skyline 400R Limited, which will make its debut at the Japan Mobility Show later this month.
No official details or photos of the car have been announced by Nissan at this stage beyond its name. Still, the badge offers a strong clue about what to expect. The Skyline 400R Limited is likely to feature the well-known 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine, the same unit found in the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport once sold in the United States.

As standard, this engine delivers 400 hp and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) of torque, although it was upgraded to produce 414 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) in the Nismo version sold exclusively in Japan.
Japanese outlet Creative311 suggests that production of the model will be limited to just 400 units and that it could be a “half-baked” version of the Nismo. This means that while it may have the same engine with the same outputs, it could lack some of the other upgrades enjoyed by the Nismo.
Among these changes were unique driving modes, distinctive decals and badging, 19-inch Enkei wheels, carbon fiber accents, an updated Vehicle Dynamics Control system, and a tweaked ABS system.
In contrast, the 400R Limited is expected to receive only mild updates over the standard 400R, potentially limited to trim enhancements or minor styling changes.
Pricing remains unconfirmed, but early estimates suggest it could start at around 7 million yen (roughly $46,000). That would place it neatly between the current 400R and the Nismo in Nissan’s lineup.
