The 2026 Nissan Armada is a large and hugely capable family SUV, but it’s taken years for Nissan to fully lean into the rugged angle, at least for the US market. While other countries have long been able to buy a dune-ready version of the Nissan Patrol, the similar but not identical Armada only recently embraced its full off-road capability with a new Pro-4X trim level. This is the most rugged Armada that Nissan has ever sold in the US, meaning it opens the Japanese automaker up to stiff competition with the best American full-size SUVs.
