Brian Lotti’s Nightfalls is the artist’s first solo show at La Loma. The paintings are urban nocturnes, mysterious and fragmentary. Lotti’s paintings are meditations on the liquid Ambien haze of the city at night. He renders Los Angeles, and friends, in soft neon blur: the sodium burn of apartment windows, streetlights, lovers in recline. These are scenes of quiet erosion. People dissolve into the reservoir and the glowing hillsides behind them.
