Apple has plenty on its plate with the iPhone 18 Pro series, its first-ever foldable, presumably the iPhone Fold, the revamped Siri, the new standard iPad, and a whole lot more. With so many products being in development, leaks and rumors surrounding them are obviously expected to follow. Leaving those behind, two new leaks now shed light on the iPhone 18 design and iPhone Air 2’s launch timeline.
iPhone 18 and Air 2 design and launch timeline leak
Tipster Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo is the source of the new leak, and how authentic they will turn out is something we’ll know in the future. But for now, the tipster claims the standard iPhone 18 will see no changes to its external design, besides minor tweaks to the dimensions. It’s believed the base models will retain the same 6.3-inch display size as the iPhone 17.
This contradicts a prior claim from another leaker, Ice Universe, who said that all iPhone 18 models would get a smaller Dynamic Island. But then, it backs other reports of the reduced Dynamic Island being exclusive to iPhone 18 Pro models.
iPhone Air 2 may be out this year
In another Weibo post, Fixed Focus Digital talks about the iPhone Air 2. Before that, there have been multiple reports claiming the iPhone Air 2 won’t be out until 2027. The delay is reportedly to give Apple time to include a second rear camera. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman too said that it will be out in Spring 2027. However, he remained skeptical about the second camera.
Fixed Focus Digital, however, in January claimed that iPhone Air 2 will launch this year. He added that it will be a “routine upgrade” with no second camera or any major design changes. Now, in his latest post, the leaker claims that Apple is moving forward with this plan. The translation reportedly reads, “Air 2 will proceed with its standard product iteration cycle.”
If true, we will still have four iPhone models launching this year. The iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, iPhone Fold, and iPhone Air 2. Since the leaks aren’t from confirmed sources, we suggest you take them with a pinch of salt.
