We’ve been hearing rumors of a Ford F-150 Lightning Raptor for a while now, but the automaker hasn’t made any moves that suggest a new model is coming. While we wait, Ford came up with the F-150 Lightning STX, which offers unique styling, all-terrain tires, and off-road accents.
Like the Lightning Flash from 2024, the STX builds on the XLT trim, though the difference here is that the STX replaces the XLT for 2026. Ford said customers have been asking for a more rugged electric F-150, but the only solutions to date have been from the aftermarket, leading it to offer the slightly beefier STX.
The truck’s driving range reaches an estimated 290 miles, and its electric powertrain delivers 536 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. An electronic-locking rear differential is standard, along with off-road running board from the F-150 Tremor, new wheels, and all-terrain tires.
STX models are available with Grabber Blue paint and have a unique grille. Inside, the cloth seats feature Grabber Blue accent stitching with the Lightning STX logo stitched into the seatbacks. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel come standard, and ford offers a vinyl floor for easier cleaning.
The bigger story from the STX announcement was its price, which remains flat from the 2025 model-year XLT’s pricing. The STX will arrive in early 2026 with an MSRP of $63,345. Pricing details for the rest of the F-150 Lightning lineup will become available closer to the truck’s launch date.
The Ford F-150 Lightning overtook the Tesla Cybertruck as the country’s best-selling electric truck earlier this year, but the future of electric vehicles is anything but certain in this country. Federal EV tax credits are set to expire soon, and automakers from all corners of the globe have walked back aggressive electrification plans. While it has continued pressing forward with new electric models, Ford has delayed or canceled some planned releases as EV demand and the economic climate remain volatile.
