Google is ready to push its new AI image editing tool, affectionately known as “Nano Banana,” far beyond Gemini and its current testing ground in Search AI Mode. Some recent findings suggest the company is working hard to embed the editor directly into two of its most visually focused services. More specifically, the firm aims to integrate Nano Banana-powered AI image generation into Google Lens and Circle to Search.
As spotted by Android Authority, the integration appears to be furthest along inside Google Lens. Hidden code in a recent Google Android app build (16.40.18.sa.arm64) shows a revamped Lens interface. Now there is a “Create” option right next to the existing “Search” and “Translate” tools.
When a user taps this new “Create” option, the system prompts them to submit an image. The user then has to describe the exact edits Nano Banana should perform using a text prompt. This workflow mirrors the simple, descriptive style already seen in the Search AI Mode experiment. An animated introduction even welcomes users to “capture, create, and share.” The latter suggests that the feature is nearly ready for a wider public rollout.
Google Lens and Circle to Search are gearing up for Nano Banana AI image editing
Google is not stopping with Lens. The same editing capability could also arrive to Circle to Search, the popular feature that allows users to quickly search for anything on their screen by simply circling it. While there’s evidence of the “Create” button surfacing within the Circle to Search interface, it does not currently respond to user input. This suggests the engineering team is still in the early stages of development for this specific placement.
However, the presence of the “Create” option in both places confirms Google’s comprehensive plan to place Nano Banana access wherever users literally interact with images on their phone screens. The plan seems similar to implementing AI-powered searching throughout its products and services. Now, the next step is the Nano Banana-powered AI image generation.
