- MrBeast has a new philanthropy project focused on water.
- The YouTube sensation is looking to help raise around $40 million to give people clean water.

MrBeast is organizing another multimillion-dollar giveaway, but not for winners of a game show.
Instead, the world’s most popular YouTuber is teaming up with thousands of content creators in hopes of raising $40 million by August 31 to bring clean water to people who need it.
The project, called #TeamWater, is a collaboration between MrBeast — whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson — fellow YouTuber Mark Rober, and water charity organization WaterAid.
MrBeast’s Beast Holdings had filed for a #TeamWater trademark last August, as Business Insider first reported. A person familiar with the project said it’s been in the works for about a year. This person said it took time to plan the campaign and coordinate logistics.
Donaldson and Rober previously partnered on the #TeamTrees and #TeamSeas campaigns, which raised over $50 million for planting trees and removing trash from oceans and beaches.
“We’re taking on clean water, because no one should have to live without it,” Donaldson and Rober said in a joint statement.

Donaldson has also undertaken a slew of other philanthropy projects, including paying for eye surgeries for people with vision problems. He runs a charity organization called Beast Philanthropy.
Donaldson began working philanthropy into his YouTube content as far back as 2017.
