Microsoft announced Copilot Vision earlier this year for Android and iOS devices after it was in testing as a preview for some Edge users since last December, and now Motorola is announcing that the AI-powered tool is going to be built into Motorola devices. This will let Copilot Vision tap into your phone’s camera so it can see what the camera sees. It will then analyze it and feed you a response based on what you ask it.
Copilot Vision wouldn’t be the first AI tool to be baked into moto ai. In fact, Motorola made a big point earlier this year to advertise the different AI tools that were coming with its latest phones. While Pixel devices come with Google Assistant and Gemini as native tools, Motorola devices come with more than one or two. All accessible on the phone out of the box, thanks to them being a part of moto ai. This includes tools like Perplexity, Meta AI, Gemini, Copilot, and now Copilot Vision.
Copilot Vision will be part of moto ai “in the coming week”
Motorola’s rollout of the Copilot Vision feature is right around the corner, but it isn’t immediately available. The company confirms it’ll be landing on Motorola phones in the coming week. That means sometime between now and the end of next week, users should have access. This should be available on all current Motorola phones that have moto ai already. There is one exception, however.
Motorola says that Moto E devices will not be getting Copilot Vision. The company doesn’t give a reason why. However, it’s likely because they don’t have the hardware or processing power for these AI features. It’s also worth noting that Copilot Vision in moto ai will begin rolling out to phones in the US and “other select countries.”
Motorola puts users in control of their privacy
With tools like Copilot Vision being baked into phones, it’s understandable that some users might have concerns about their privacy. Given that Copilot Vision has access to your camera and microphone, you likely want to be assured that your privacy is intact when you aren’t using the feature.
Motorola says that Copilot Vision only accesses your phone’s camera and microphone after you invoke it.
