
After receiving the okay from the San Antonio City Council, McCombs Enterprise’s can move ahead on a six-acre development at West Jones Avenue and Camden Street, next to the San Antonio Museum of Art (photo).
The San Antonio Business Journal reports the project is slated for up to 390 apartment units, 265,510 square feet of office space, 57,410 square feet of food and beverage and 58,650 square feet of retail space. The entire development is expected to encompass more than 1 million square feet between eight buildings.
McCombs purchased the site from CPS Energy in 2023 for $29.5 million.
McCombs Enterprises was founded by Red McCombs. He was the co-founder of Clear Channel Communications, a onetime owner of the San Antonio Spurs, San Antonio Force, Denver Nuggets, the Minnesota Vikings, and the namesake of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
McCombs Enterprises is comprised of five divisions: Automotive, Energy, Real Estate, Investments and Foundation.
