Normally, when one thinks of carbon capture technology, an image of industrial-size systems attached to factories or power plants comes to mind. However, several automakers are studying the use of onboard systems designed to capture CO2 from an engine’s exhaust. One of them is Mazda, which only first presented its system earlier this month and has now announced that it is already testing it in a Mazda 3 hatchback.
