America is dominated by automatic transmissions. It’s one of the only places on Earth where the number of manuals is significantly lower, with only around 18% of Americans knowing how to handle three pedals and a stick in the middle. It’s a dying art, even though there are so many benefits to manual transmissions in the age-old manual vs automatic debate.
