Handheld lovers rejoice, as soon there will be another option available with the upcoming MANGMI Pocket Max, which also now has a confirmed price that actually turns out to be fairly reasonable. The MANGMI Pocket Max was announced last year, and at the time, it wasn’t clear when the device would actually launch or how much it would cost.
Based on specs that were teased by the company, however, some estimations placed the price at around $200 or more. As it turns out, the price is about what was expected. Although it is worth noting that it’s a starting price. MANGMI will offer more expensive variants. Still, for a handheld that’s capable of playing Android games and retro classics from emulated console platforms, it shouldn’t be too far from what people will be willing to pay.
The MANGMI Pocket Max will launch on February 6 for a starting price of $199
When it comes to the price, the MANGMI Pocket Max will retail for $199.99. This comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. That’s a good amount to start off with for Android games, but for those who want more, you’ll need to rely on storage via the TF card slot on the back. Another thing to keep in mind is that while there aren’t any other storage or RAM options, the $199.99 price is based on early bird pricing/pre-orders. Once February 12 comes around, MANGMI confirms that the cost of this handheld will go up to $239.99. That’s still pretty reasonable, given the capabilities and the specs.
However, it’s not the least expensive handheld on the market that can do the same things. So, if you’re looking to spend less money, you have options there, too. MANGMI will begin taking pre-orders for the Pocket Max this Friday, and it has three color options available, including Black, White, and Retro.
